Burning Man

Burning Man is a unique art and community experience held in Black Rock City, a temporary metropolis created by its participants in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. The organisation does not describe Burning Man as a conventional music festival. It is a global cultural movement shaped by principles including participation, radical self-expression, communal effort, civic responsibility and leaving no trace.

Large-scale art installations, mutant vehicles, theme camps, performances and participant-created experiences form the heart of Black Rock City. As the event does not operate like a traditional commercial festival with readily available services, detailed preparation is essential. Participants must plan their own water, food, shelter, equipment, transportation and protection against demanding desert conditions.

Travel plan:

• Arrival in Reno and pre-event hotel accommodation
• Completion of equipment and essential-supply preparations
• Transportation to Black Rock City using the selected travel method
• Camp arrival, set-up and event orientation
• Participation in art installations, theme camps and community activities
• Major shared experiences including the Man Burn and Temple Burn
• Return to Reno and post-event recovery accommodation
• Airport transfer at the end of the programme

A Burning Man journey is not a standard festival package. Tickets, vehicle passes, camp participation, transport and equipment may each be subject to separate availability and rules. Extreme temperature changes, dust storms and limited services make it essential for every participant to read the official Survival Guide and take responsibility for personal preparation.
